The Woodleigh, located in the heart of Baton Rouge and just minutes from Denham Springs, is seeking certified nursing assistants (CNAs) for restorative and shower aide positions. Our remodeled facility offers a skilled therapy wing and secure memory care unit, as well as traditional long-term care. The ideal candidates will demonstrate care of the elderly, dependability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Duties include the following as well as the other duties as described by nursing management.

  • Full-time shifts
  • 6am – 2pm
  • 4 days on/ 2 days off

Restorative Aide/CNA Responsibilities

Facilitate independence of residents by assisting with ADLs (activities of daily living) to include:

  • transfers, ambulation and gait training
  • bed mobility and positioning
  • feeding as necessary
  • therapeutic exercise
  • timely response to call lights
  • monitoring changes in resident health and reporting changes to the charge nurse
  • perform other duties of a certified nursing assistant as described by nursing management

Shower Aide/CNA Responsibilities

Assist residents with their personal care needs according to their preferences to include: showering and bathing as directed by their care plan.to include:

  • showering and bathing as directed by their care plan assist resident routinely with personal care needs according to their wishes
  • preparation for activity and social programs, and transporting residents to/from appointments
  • monitoring changes in resident health and reporting changes to the charge nurse
  • ensure that resident’s rooms are clean and comfortable
  • perform other duties of a certified nursing assistant as described by nursing management

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a nursing assistant course that meets federal/state requirements
  • Able to follow oral and written instructions
  • Work as a team member responsibly and independently
  • Document/Record observations and activities
  • Possess good communication skills
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to and communicate with the geriatric population
  • Able to assess data reflecting the resident’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each resident’s requirements relative to their age-specific needs
